Prior to Charles River, Mr. Steward served Deputy CEO and Managing Director for GL Trade, a leading trading technology and software provider headquartered in Paris, France. In 2006, GL Trade acquired NYFIX Overseas, where Mr. Steward had served as President and Managing Director since 1993. Mr. Steward played a lead role in the transaction and headed the integration and new business development efforts for the merged business. During his tenure at NYFIX Overseas, Mr. Steward was instrumental in building the company’s international operations in Europe and Asia/Pacific. This development was achieved through global deals with many of the world’s largest banks and brokerage firms including Deutsche, RBS, HSBC, ABN, Merrill, Fortis, Credit Lyonnais, Bank of America, JP Morgan and UBS. NYFIX Overseas was a wholly-owned subsidiary of NYFIX, Inc. (Nasdaq: NYFX), which developed one of the world’s largest, private FIX-based equity transaction networks connecting more than 200 leading brokers and 300 institutions to the leading global stock and derivative exchanges. In 2003, NYFIX acquired Javelin Technologies (Global leading supplier of FIX engines) where Mr. Steward successfully oversaw the integration in Europe and Asia. Mr. Steward also served as a Director of Javelin Technologies and the NYFIX Millennium Broker Dealer business in Europe and Asia. Previously, Mr. Steward held senior executive positions with a number of major public companies within the financial markets. Mr. Steward holds a degree in Business Management and Marketing from Middlesex University in London.
